Poison, Venom, and Spines: Oh My! In-Person
Lions, tigers, and bears? Compared to other places in the world, we live in a place that is relatively free of dangerous creatures. However, there are still quite a few plants, fungi, and especially small animals that we need to be wary of. In this photographic slide show, participants will learn how to identify poisonous plants and fungi to avoid contact with them. Certain arachnids, stinging caterpillars, wasps, mosquitoes, and other small animals have defenses that could potentially be harmful to people. Learning how to recognize them and compare them to similar species is very useful so we can better enjoy the outdoors. Presented by Burlington County Parks Senior Naturalist Jen Bulava.
