MEAC Presents: Moorestown Map History, Government and Natural Environment

MEAC Presents: Moorestown Map History, Government and Natural Environment In-Person

The Moorestown Environmental Advisory Committee was proud to complete the peer-reviewed 2023 Moorestown Environmental Resource Inventory (ERI). The purpose of an ERI is to identify and describe the natural and cultural resources of a community and reflects a particular moment in time. ERIs are updated on a 10-year cycle with the previous ERI being completed by the Committee in 2013. This new version represents the culmination of 2 years of work by MEAC in conjunction with DVRPC and over 3 dozen local, private & public entities and subject specialists in our town. This includes review by the Moorestown Town Council, and the Planning Board.

This full document contains 20 full-color, highly detailed maps and over 50 tables included within 7 major-topic chapters and appendices. It represents a major expansion from past versions, and we are confident that it will become the guide for future years. It demonstrates how our Town is a very special place to live and this presentation will help provide information to prove it.

In this presentation, Joan Ponessa (former Chairperson), Chris Salvatico (former Secretary), and Henry Balikov (current member) will discuss the responsibilities, production, and results of the document. Discussion will include topics such as the history, social fabric, government, and natural environment of Moorestown.
