Moorestown History & Cemetery Lore Walking Tour

Moorestown History & Cemetery Lore Walking Tour In-Person

Where better to end spooky season than in the graveyard? Storyteller and teacher Joe Wetterling brings over 15 years of tour experience and his own historical research to our local burial places. Our town history is full of heroes and villains, soldiers and storytellers, hardworking farmers and wealthy socialites. On this walking tour of three local graveyards and cemeteries (do you know the difference?), we'll explore the town's history and burial practices, learn how to "read" a cemetery, and hear some of the tragic stories of Moorestown's past.

Be sure to bring a flashlight if you have one, and wear comfortable shoes for a 1.25 mile round trip. While the tour does include discussion of murder, suicide, and accidental drowning, details will be kept family-friendly.

We will meet on the library's patio at 6:30pm. The library will not be accessible before or after the tour.

Joe Wetterling is a professional educator, storyteller, and writer. He teaches technology & business in Philadelphia, and has taught classes in philosophy and writing both live and online. A Moorestown resident, Joe was a tour guide for fifteen years, president of an international writers organization, and an invited speaker on topics both spooky and mundane in the US and Canada
