History Talk: 1778-The Occupation of Burlington County

History Talk: 1778-The Occupation of Burlington County In-Person

In June of 1778, 20,000 British soldiers and camp followers left Philadelphia bound for New York City. Before Washington caught up with them at the Battle of Monmouth, the British Army spent five days in Burlington County skirmishing with local militia and pillaging the villages and farms along their march.

Eric Orange, Museum Attendant at the Burlington County Division of Parks, will provide an in-depth lecture on this historic event.
