Monday Night Movie and Discussion: Local Hero In-Person
In this acclaimed, whimsical effort from Scotland’s Bill Forsyth, Peter Reigert plays an enterprising young worker for a Houston oil enterprise sent on assignment to an oceanside village in Scotland in order to purchase the town so it can be transformed into a refinery. While checking out the area with a local contact (Peter Capaldi), Reigert encounters a series of quirky characters and faces some bizarre occurrences. Burt Lancaster plays the astronomy-obsessed head of the oil outfit.
The program will include a brief intro and discussion after the movie.
