Concert: Hungrytown In-Person
Blending years of worldwide touring with a deep love for classic musical traditions, Rebecca Hall and Ken Anderson have shaped Hungrytown into a distinctive artistic hybrid. Hall’s songwriting has been praised for sounding “as timeless as any traditional songs,” while Anderson’s multi-instrumental craftsmanship and production have earned acclaim for “remarkable instrumental embellishment” and the duo’s “gorgeous vocal harmonies.” Originally performing in New York City—Hall as a jazz singer and Anderson as a drummer in psychedelic pop bands—their path shifted when a close friend entrusted them with her cherished 1960s folk collection and guitar, inspiring Hall’s first songs and their shared turn toward folk.
They currently spend about half the year on the road across North America, Europe, and New Zealand. Their music has received international radio play and has been featured on television programs including The Daily Show and Portlandia. Don’t miss this captivating performance, born from their years of worldwide touring and deep devotion to the craft, as they bring their dynamic sound to life on stage.
This program is sponsored by Wegmans and the Friends of the Moorestown Library.
