SUMMARY:History Talk and Demonstration: Sights and Sounds of the Early Recording Industry
DESCRIPTION:Take a musical journey to the world of the early 20th century. 
 Hear a voice from as far back as 1899 and hits from 1903 to 1928. This is a 
 multi-medial history of the early recording industry. Attendees will view 
 original 100  year old machines and will enjoy a demonstration on making an 
 acoustical recording. There will also be a variety of records on 
 display.\n\nPresenter Garry Wetstein has been collecting antique 
 phonographs\, records\, and literature since 1974. Garry spent many years 
 hosting public speaking engagements and living histories as a Civil War 
 Reenactor at schools\, libraries\, bookstores\, and Gettysburg. Currently\, 
 he is retired and frequently substitutes for the Moorestown School 
 District.\n\nRegistration is requested but not required\; all are welcome 
 to attend.\n\nSponsored by the Friends of the Moorestown Library.\n\n
