Growing Together! Understanding Sensory Processing & Regulation in Young Children In-Person
For children ages birth - 5 year, with a caregiver
Registration is required.
Have you ever wondered why your child seeks movement, avoids certain sounds or textures, has difficulty with transitions, or struggles to calm their body? Join occupational therapist Jaclyn Heineman, OTR/L, as we explore how sensory processing impacts emotional regulation and participation in daily routines. Families will learn practical, easy-to-implement strategies to support regulation and sensory development at home while children engage in fun sensory-based play activities.
Families will leave with a better understanding of their child's sensory needs, opportunities to connect with other caregivers, and practical tools to support communication, play, learning, and social-emotional development in everyday life.
Growing Together is a gathering for parents, caregivers, and young children (birth–5 years) that provides a welcoming space to connect, learn, and explore child development. Each session features a brief educational presentation led by a licensed speech-language pathologist or pediatric therapist (OT, PT), followed by discussion, family interaction, and an engaging developmental activity. Families will leave with practical strategies to support communication, play, literacy, and social-emotional growth at home.
