Wait Until 8th Parent Information Session In-Person
For parents and caregivers.
Registration is requested.
Representatives from Moorestown’s Wait Until 8th local chapter will lead an information session focused on technology use in our schools and its impact on our children’s learning and development.
The discussion will explore the growing role of technology in the classroom, including the use of Chromebooks and other digital tools throughout the school day. We’ll look at what current research says about screen-based learning, attention, academic performance, distraction, and student well-being—and consider where technology enhances learning and where a more balanced approach may better serve students.
The discussion will also address questions many parents are asking: How much of the school day are our children spending on screens? When is technology truly improving instruction? When might traditional, screen-free approaches be more effective? And how can schools and families work together to create healthy, age-appropriate technology practices?
Families will learn about Moorestown Wait Until 8th’s local efforts to encourage a more intentional approach to technology both inside and outside of school, as well as the broader Wait Until 8th movement to delay smartphones until after 8th grade.
