International Cinema & Discussion Night with Michael: The Night of the Shooting Stars In-Person
Patrons will enjoy old and contemporary movies from around the world, including but not limited to Europe, South America, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. All films are screened in their original language with English subtitles and a short discussion will follow each film.
Join us in watching the 1982 Italian film, The Night of the Shooting Stars, directed by Paolo Taviani. It is the Night of San Lorenzo, the night when dreams come true. While watching shooting stars, Cecilia tells her son about a similar night in 1944, when she was six years old and the residents of San Martino, her small Tuscan town, defied their Nazi occupiers.
